The objective of this article is to study the phenomenon of corruption from the perspective of psychoanalysis, reflecting the Angolan reality. He raised as a starting question: What is the point of view of psychoanalysis on corruption? In order to find answers to the question raised, bibliographic data was collected from different authors who address issues inherent to the topic under discussion. It was possible to see that psychoanalysis has a deeper view of corruption and goes beyond the common sense. For the psychoanalytic approach, it is the symbolic system that is corrupted. This occurs when your representative supports two logics, one public (public or common interests) and the other private (personal or private interests). Therefore, the individual practices or is prone to practice subordination. Psychoanalysis also understands that the corruption of individuals can be related to madness, which leads the subject to an excessive desire for absolute pleasure. That's why he tramples on ethics and all rules for his own benefit. It is interesting to point out that one of the main ways in which corruption is institutionalized is by bribing the strong and intimidating the weak. It has become clear that the most effective way to combat corruption lies in passing on good moral and ethical values and pro-social attitudes from parents to children, from the earliest years of life.
